Before we heading to Taiping Lake, we plan to go Ipoh for lunch. Recently we heard that the famous Michelin-Starred chicken rice in Singapore opening 1st Malaysia Outlet in Ipoh, we were looking forward to taste this famous chicken rice.

World's cheapest Michelin-Star Meal
Since Michelin-Starred food is a recognition of the highest standard of taste, it usually comes with hefty price tag. Hawker Chan is famously know to serve the cheapest Michelin-starred chicken rice at an affordable price.
For my opinion, i don't really like this type of chicken rice. They served soy sauce chicken and not roasted chicken. Food was cold, normal white and not oil rice, braised soybeans a bit hard to be enjoyed, taste is nothing special compare to famous chicken rice in Ipoh.
Only the soy sauce chicken is edible because that chicken was soft, tender and well flavoured. But the sauce is on the sweet side.
If you want to come here, you really need to set aside the "Michelin 1-Star" expectation because Ipoh has plenty of better places to eat that did not get Michelin award.

After our lunch, we are heading to Taiping for a walk in Taiping Lake Garden.
The Taiping Lake Gardens is the first publish garden established during the British rule in Malaysia. The garden is located near Bukit Larut and popular place for wedding photography.
Huge rain trees, their branches stretching from one end of the road into the waters across, making perfect backdrop for couples taking their wedding photos.

Actually we should not wasting our time in Ipoh, we should spend more time in Taiping Lake. 2 hours is not enough for us to cover the whole Taiping Lake Garden. Next time i should come early in the morning and do exercise with local peoples.
Taiping not only famous with beautiful lake but also famous with firework char kuey teow. This uncle fries his char koay teow over charcoal fire, controlling the flame with his own makeshift rotary fan which caused the sparks that earned his stall the nickname firework char kuey teow.
You can choose the dish with either chicken or duck eggs. I went for the duck eggs as they have a stronger unique smell and taste.
This char kueh teow quite famous among locals, so do be prepared for a wait of up to half an hour during peak hours.
