Day 6, Hiking at Pulau Seri Buat, Pahang

Day 6,

Today we go for island tour in Mersing. Pulau Sribuat (Seri Buat) is our second islands. At first i thought Pulau Seri Buat located at Johor, but i am wrong, Pulau Seri Buat located at Pahang. I am super excited to go Pulau Seri Buat because i can go hiking. The top view there is spectacular.

Before we go hiking, our guide say we can wear slipper because it's a short hike. But wearing slipper is a BAD idea, it will make you foot more slippery and difficult to hike, in the end i bare foot hike this hill, even though it is pain but it is more safer compare to wearing slipper.

Look at the background view ...

The hike was a pretty short one, about 20-30 minutes. Difficulty was about moderate. Normally we can drive to hiking place, but this time we need to take boat to our hiking place. This place is clean and less rubbish because you only can go here from March to November.

Amazing view from the peak

After 10 minutes, we went down for our breakfast and prepare to go next island. Sometime i still prefer photo taken with SJCAM because got wide angle and fisheye feel. Huawei is good with color and blurring background only.

Day 3, Hiking @ Bukit Larut (Maxwell Hill), Taiping, Perak

Day 3,

Bukit Larut also known as Maxwell Hill in Taiping, is approximately 1250 meter above sea level and is the best cool place to escape the heat. The daily temperature ranges from between 10-26 degree Celsius.

Hang out here before waiting for our Jeep

There are no traffic jam on the way to Bukit Larut because private vehicles are not allowed to drive up. The access road to Bukit Larut is very steep and narrow. You need to take jeep to go up there, and that 10 kilometres journey to the top of Bukit Larut is not easy and it takes about 30 minutes to reach the top with this jeep. Their driver is damn professional , he can drive the narrow road with one hand only.

There is two ways to go up Bukit Larut, you can hiking all the way up (10 kilometer) or take jeep (30 minute ride). As you know i am lazy man, i am willing to pay RM10 per trip for a ride to Bukit Larut. Clever right! If school or public holidays, please come as early as 7am to queue at the counter to buy ticket, if you come late then you are let with another option is hiking all the way up or wait for tomorrow trip.

Finally we are here.

Did you know that Bukit Larut is the oldest hill in Malaysia? Back in the day, British colonial officials come here as resort and relax, because of it cool weather, less air pollution, quiet place, and surround by nature. i am glad that this place still maintain their building, no much development here, really a good place for relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. No much activity can be done here, so 2 hours is more that enough to spend up here.
